Our story

The Heart of Masa

Our name comes from masa harina, the ground corn flour at the heart of traditional Mexican tortillas.

It reflects what we’re all about: a love for Mexican food and a respect for the traditions behind it. We believe great tacos start with getting the fundamentals right, from good masa and freshly pressed tortillas to carefully sourced ingredients and time-honoured techniques.

By bringing authentic Mexican staples together with the best produce Vietnam has to offer, we stay true to the flavours and traditions we love, while making them our own in Hội An.

Sharing the Food We Love

After spending years immersed in Mexico’s vibrant culinary landscape, one of our founders found herself missing the flavours she had grown to love while living in Vietnam. With the support of her Mexican “family” and the Đổi Mới Collective team, that longing became the inspiration behind Hội An’s first authentic taqueria.

Rooted in Mexico, Made in Vietnam

At Masa, we bring Mexican culinary traditions to life with ingredients sourced from both sides of the world. We import key staples directly from Mexico, including masa harina, agave spirits, specialty dried chillies and spices, while making the most of Vietnam’s local produce. From locally caught Mahi Mahi and house-made pickled Hội An chillies to nopales (prickly pear cactus) and gelato made with Vietnamese chocolate, our menu reflects the way we cook: rooted in Mexican tradition, shaped by the flavours and ingredients of Vietnam.
